Also known as: Egyptian clover · Berseem · برسيم (Arabic) · Trifolium alexandrinum · Bersim
Berseem clover (Trifolium alexandrinum), or Egyptian clover, is a fast-growing, multi-cut annual winter forage legume that yields 4–8 cuttings of soft, highly palatable green fodder with roughly 20% crude protein. It is the leading irrigated forage legume across Egypt, Pakistan, India and the Middle East, valued for dairy and cattle feed, soil nitrogen fixation and crop rotation. Kohenoor International exports berseem seed at 99% minimum purity, 85% minimum germination, dodder-free, in 25 kg and 50 kg bags on FOB/CNF terms — priced daily against current crop and lot.

Season & habit. Berseem is a cool-season annual sown in autumn for forage from November to May. Multi-cut cultivars with a low growing point regenerate quickly after each cut, delivering 4–8 harvests of soft, leafy fodder.
Feeding value. Fresh berseem typically carries around 20% crude protein with high digestibility and palatability, making it a preferred base for dairy and cattle rations during the cool season.
Soil & rotation. As a legume it fixes atmospheric nitrogen, improving soil fertility and making it valuable in rotations and as green manure ahead of cereals or vegetables.
Establishment. Best on well-drained irrigated soils with adequate moisture; broadcast or drilled at locally recommended rates. Where soils are heavy or waterlogged, importers often pair berseem with Persian clover (shaftal), which tolerates wet conditions.
